Aj’s Movie Review… Fantastic Four
Finally, the First Family of super heroes gets a well deserved (and long awaited) actual movie blockbuster. And it’s not like the horrendous production back in the 90’s which made me cringe just listening to the comments from those that watched that horror show. A big budget, awesome special effects and and a great story-line (even-though they had to change a bit of F4 history to fit into the movie genre). SO what if they had to change a few things from the comic book? Its two different worlds and one can’t expect everything has to be the same just like in the comic book. I think Stan Lee would have have agreed with me on this one.
Brown nosing apart. There were some parts of the movie that I didn’t really like. First off, Mr. Fantastic and Sue Storm were way bit too young (but I am a BIG fan of Jessica Alba!). I thought The Human Torch over inflated ego and machoism were a tad overpowering the character and The Thing… what can I say? Actually I don’t because I thought The Thing was closely resembling our lovable comic based character. And finally, Doc Doom. I’d love to have his job. But i never would have thought that he would receive his powers just like the F4. Dooms transformation kind of reminds me of Colossus from the X-Men with his metal organic skin. Now I wont elaborate the movie (koz that would spoil the movie for those who hasn’t seen), but from the comic itself (for those who doesn’t know).
The F4 did get bombarded by cosmic rays to get their powers. Victor Von Doom didn’t become Doom until he went over the edge because he couldn’t seem to be a better scientist than Reed Richard. Lets just say Reed was hogging the limelight. Then Victor was involved in an accident during an experiment (If I remembered correctly) which scarred him for life. Thus, Doc Doom was born. As for his super human strength and devastating weapons, it was the bio-mechanical suit which he designed and use we have to thank for. Remember, this is the comic version.
Now I wont say much more, except go watch the Fantastic Four and tell me what you think of the movie. Bring kids along if you want because they will be rooted to their seats enjoying the movie. The highlight for me I guess when jessica Alba strip down to her lingerie and totally went invisible before chucking the last remains of stitches off. She’s just a hottie don’t you guys think? Those with an overly warped imagination would probably enjoy that moment…
